The goal of the Intel Teach to the Future initiative is to train classroom teachers on how to promote project-based learning and effectively integrate the use of technology into the existing curriculum to support student achievement. One major component in the Teach to the Future units is a foundation in "Essential Questions," which are similar to overarching concepts. This provides a focus for research and a framework for relating findings to prior knowledge. Northside participant teachers have each created a unit plan and have provided samples of what they might expect students to produce (PowerPoint presentation, Publisher document and Publisher web page). They have also created grading rubrics. This online database is searchable by grade level and content area. The participant teacher authors are indicated on the unit plan documents. Our special thanks goes out to the Northside master teachers who have supported this initiative: Richard Montgomery, Sheila Jaklich, Ken Madden, Dave Newman, Mathew Bartley, Debra Wyant, Dennis Maggio, Robin Ford, Linda Koehler, Melissa Kern-Herrington, and Janice Burgess. |
